Needlepoint Basics

Learn about the right types of canvas to use as your foundation piece and what kind of yarns/ threads work best with each canvas type. Begin by marking the canvas and then learn core stitch techniques and several additional textured stitches that add personality to your piece. The finished product can be made into a small pillow or blocked and placed in a frame. Learn about needlepoint canvas and threads used for various size meshes. Discuss where to get supplies -few are local, but easily purchased online. Develop techniques for preparing various threads and yarn for easy stitching. Learn 12-14 stitches and complete stitch areas on canvas Learn how to block and finish the project.

Materials will be provided - a $15 supply fee is included in the cost of the class. Please bring sharp scissors for cutting thread.
