In recent decades, filmmakers have delved deeply in Irish history and culture to create beautiful stories and make unique contributions to global cinema. Explore the backstory of three Irish movies and the history and culture that influenced or inspired the plot of each as you examine the familial bonds, myths, politics and nationalism of Ireland through the lens of film.
Films include: "Dancing at Lughnasa", The Snapper, and "Sing Street".
Casual discussion at the end of each film.

Jon Hatch is an Irish/American dual citizen who works as an educator, writer, and post-conflict expert. He received his Masters and Doctorate from Trinity College Dublin and has 15 years' experience living and working in Ireland developing education programs as part of the peace process after the conflict in Northern Ireland.
