An Introduction to Fiber Arts

Are you feeling crafty, creative, curious, and ready to touch the fine arts through fiber art? Come explore how traditional fiber art techniques can meet contemporary practices. Each week this course will introduce you to a different kind of fiber art technique, including surface design, embroidery, weaving, and dry felting. As we feel the soft textures of the fiber arts in our hands let’s discuss ideas from the past to present

Please wait to purchase supplies until sufficient enrollment. Supply List: For the second class, bring an apron and a variety of brush sizes. For the remaining classes, please bring Scissors Embroidery needles and thread ( a variety of colors) Embroidery hoop (10x10 or smaller) Punch needle (extra needles) Weaving Needle Loom Wool Roving (at least three colors) Yarn ( a variety of different colors and textures) Wool felting needle Needle felting mat Fabric to felt onto wool For more information on supplies, please contact instructor Jemina at jeminawatstein@gmail.com Included in the class fee is $20 for supplies.
