Interested in pursuing a career in welding or just learning how to weld? This course provides an supportive learning environment for women to learn to weld and introduces them to opportunities in the profession. The course is designed specifically for women and is taught by a woman welding instructor. Students will learn about safety, equipment, and the various types of welding that is common in the industry.
Students will be provided with a welding helmet, welding jacket, gloves, and all the tools needed to be successful in the class.
Notes:
Students will need leather boots or shoes, and cotton, wool, or fire resistant clothing to ensure welder safety.
(No synthetic clothing)
All equipment will be provided.
Bring a water bottle and notebook and pen.
Eating before class may be the best option but if you are unable to do that there will be some lecture time and a short break.
Class will meet in the Occupational Trades Building located on the north end of the campus (near Walmart).
