In this eight-week beginner class, learn the basic techniques of watercolor painting and create a painting every week. Explore a variety of methods to enhance your paintings and let your creativity flow. The last class is devoted to creating a final painting encompassing the techniques learned in previous weeks.

Water color paint in tubes--can be either Windsor and Newton, or M. Graham & Co. brands in these colors to start: alizarin crimson Napthal red sap green aureolin yellow  yellow ochre gamboge ultramarine blue burnt sienna lampblack Payne's gray  white Brushes: 1 1" flat  1 8-10 inch round  1 rigger for detail an old brush for applying masking fluid White gel pen 2B pencil and gum eraser Palette to mix paints masking fluid small spray bottle for water Paper Towels Masking tape water container--yogurt or cottage cheese carton Supplies are available locally at Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Walmart has some supplies. Dana Fraley is a retired elementary teacher and loves to teach art. Her passion is watercolor painting; she took her first watercolor class at FVCC from Karen Leigh. Dana received a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Montana.
